Support ALS

Greetings everyone,

I certainly hope that all is well with you today.  Many of you who are connected to me via social media or have known me for awhile know that when I was just twelve-years-old, my mother passed away at the age of 41, a few months after having been diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) or Lou Gehrig's Disease.  In 2014, I did the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in her honor and memory and also that year I participated in the Walk to Defeat ALS in Washington, DC and I walked again in 2015.  I also shared my story on Facebook of witnessing my mother's rapid decline after her diagnosis in which I just wanted to provide a little education on the disease and its affects and effects.

After learning of my story, one of my fraternity brothers started a team called Bucket Headz, which actually is how I found out about the ALS Walk in DC.  With this team, my brother has been raising funds for the walk since 2014.  This year he tagged my mother's name onto the team and as a result I felt prompted and moved to join the effort to raise funds to the DC/MD/VA Chapter of the ALS Association.  I am reaching out to you today to ask for your help in reaching my fund raising goal, which is a small part of the ALS Association's overall goal.  By clicking on the link provided, your generous will donation will go directly to the ALS Association and aid in the cause to fund research efforts with hopes of finding a cure for this fatal neuromuscular disease.

I am asking for just a small donation of $5.00 towards my fund raising effort.  However, if you feel moved to donate more, by all means please obey that notion (smile). I thank you so much for your time and your generosity.  God bless you!!!

This year's walk is this Saturday, October 29, 2016.  Sign-in begins at 9:00 AM and the walk begins at 10:00 AM.  If you are in the DC area, please come out and join us.   God bless!!!
